Mandalam

In Śākthya (Shakti) Sreechakra Pūja, a maṇḍalam (also called a pīṭham or yantra plate) is traditionally made of copper.
It is the base plate on which the Sreechakra is installed or drawn.

Structure of the Maṇḍalam

The copper plate is crafted with the essential Sreechakra patterns:
• Bindu (ബിന്ദു) – the central dot symbolising the supreme Shakti, the union of Shiva and Shakti.
• Trikona (ത്രികോണം) – the downward-pointing triangle representing the divine feminine energy.
• Chathurasra (ചതുരസ്രം / Square) – the square with four gates (bhūpura) that forms the outer boundary of the yantra and signifies the earthly plane and stability.

These geometric forms are engraved or embossed on the copper plate, and the plate itself becomes the yantra or maṇḍalam used for Sreechakra Pūja in Śākthya tradition.
It serves as the sacred seat for Devi during worship and is essential for correctly performing the rituals.
